1. Hello, my name is Atefeh. I am a 23-year-old digital artist, and art is my greatest passion. I have a cat named Maya, whom I love dearly and take care of every day. I live in Iran, where the economy has been getting worse with each passing day, and life has become extremely difficult.

I work as a receptionist in a hotel, but my salary is only about $140 per month. This is what I earn in dollar if I exchange my whole Iranian rial payment, but it’s not nearly enough to cover the basic costs of living. I’m in a tough situation because I don’t have a stable home of my own. I live with my mom and her new husband, but our relationship is strained. He doesn’t get along with me or my cat, and for almost a month, I was kicked out of the house. I had to stay with my cousin, but the situation wasn’t much better. I feel lost and unsupported, and it’s hard to imagine a future in this environment.

I dream of having my own place—a home where I can live peacefully and also open an art workshop. I want to be able to pursue my art, sell my work, and support myself, but to make this dream come true, I need $40,000. This amount would allow me to rent a home and a store where I can start working towards my goals.

I do commissions and sell my art, but the financial struggle is real. The situation in Iran is incredibly difficult, and I feel like I’m drowning in it. I want to take care of Maya and create a life that’s meaningful for both of us.
